April Happenings~2018

March 29th, 2018

Morels, Ramps, Wine Tasting and Festivals…
We missed you Spring!

We watch and we wait…daffodils and crocuses arrive first. Ramps emerge shortly after and then with just the right combination of sunlight, rainfall, crumpled leaves, poplar trees and a secret location…the magical Morel mushroom makes it’s short-lived but spectacular debut. The local lore on how, when and where to find them is legendary. But the flavor and delicate edible is worth the wait. We hope they arrive mid to late April. Check our FaceBook page for updates. We’ll be on Morel watch beginning this weekend.

Spring also means the Berkeley Springs Farmer’s Market is filling the street with locally grown produce and garden plants. Sunday, April 1st (Easter Sunday) is opening day for most vendors, although Lot 12 will begin participating on Sunday, April 8th with our usual Market Fresh Fare! Visit the areas BEST farmers Market each Sunday from 10am to 2pm, downtown on Fairfax Street!

Ramps (locally sourced, seasonally available wild onions) are expected any day! Ramp soup, ramp hush puppies, ramp vodka, ramp quiche, Chef Damian celebrates Spring with food and drink creations utilizing natures bounty. And paired with Morels…oh my.
On especially abundant years, morels and ramps can be enjoyed in our lunch offerings at the market as well!
Our Spring Wine Tasting will feature great “porch” wines! Because we know that sitting on your porch and sipping a spectacular wine goes hand-in-hand with Spring… Friday, April 20th from 6-8pm~$22 per guest, reservations are a must!
Lot 12 will be serving lunch at Uniquely WV~ A Food and Wine Festival in Berkeley Springs again this year! Located at the Ice House in downtown, the festival features an interesting (and tasty) array of West Virginia foods, products and wine! 10am to 4pm, Saturday April 21st!

Our new Spring Dinner Menu will be arriving on or about this weekend also!!
Hours of Service: Thursday through Sunday, 5pm
Closed Easter Sunday 2018

2017 was, thankfully, an amazing year for the local delicacy…
the paw paw fruit. And what better way to enjoy a paw paw than
in a martini glass. Chef Damian has worked his magic, again.

Autumn brings cooler nights, colorful leaves, wood stove and
fireplace comfort and, of course, hearty stews. Our seasonal change from
Summer Menu to Autumn invokes a sense of calmness. It’s one of our favorite transitions.

and will reopen on Friday, November 24th**

Lot 12 will be serving lunch at the Festival of Light event
located at Ice House in downtown Berkeley Springs on November 11th &12th!

October Happenings~2016

October 4th, 2016

Lot 12~October 2016 Happenings

The air has turned crisp and the nights cool. October is glorious in Berkeley Springs. This weekend, October 8th & 9th, is a favorite of many as the Apple Butter Festival takes place in downtown. There is something for everyone, a turtle race, a beard contest, bluegrass music in the park, a parade complete with high school bands and floats and of course, the pig calling contest shouldn’t be missed. There are dozens of craft and food vendors tucked in every corner of the town. The complete schedule can be viewed so you can plan your weekend!

We know that after a full day of festival-going, you’ll need to relax and be pampered. Our bar is open at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and dinner service begins at 5pm. Calling ahead for reservations is a must this Holiday Weekend for sure! Our new Autumn Dinner Menu launched last week to rave reviews with items such as: Coq au Vin, Pumpkin Risotto and Butternut Squash soup. Our menu changes to reflect the season and this menu embraces the fall harvest for sure.

One of the highlights of cooler weather is the return of our Wine Tasting Events. These intimate, affordable and enlightening evenings are typically held on the third Friday of month, October through March. This kickoff evening is no exception…mark your calendars for Friday, October 21st from 6 until 8pm. We enjoy seeing our guests make new friends during this casual evening which is located upstairs in our private dining room. Lovely wines, delicious snacks and friendly people-it’s a perfect combination.

Twice a year, many artists from Berkeley Springs open their studios to the public for a self-guided tour. October 22nd & 23rd marks the Berkeley Springs Studio Tour Weekend! You can drive through the countryside and visit artists while they display their expertise with printmaking, painting, hand-forged metal work, glass-making, pottery and more. The maps and brochures are available throughout the town (including Lot 12), pick one up and set off to enjoy the fall foliage and beautiful one-of-a-kind artwork. This is a great way to begin the Holiday shopping season too!

From spas to hiking, shopping to biking, there are so many ways to spend your days relaxing in and around Berkeley Springs. We look forward to seeing you during your next stay in our beautiful little town!

Stay current on News from Lot 12’s FaceBook Page!

A Lot 12 Wine Tasting!! Friday, October 21st beginning at 6pm until 8pm, we will be hosting the first in the series of Autumn Wine Tastings…call soon as seating is very limited! We love our intimate and casual wine tastings. We believe the best tastings are friendly, inviting and informal. And of course, have great wine and great food. We hope that you discover a new favorite and make a new friend. Tastings are held upstairs, begin any time after 6pm and usually last about an hour. Most guests enjoy a light dinner afterwards and if so, please reserve a table or bar seat ahead of time! Cost is an affordable $20 for a sampling of four wines and light hors d’oeuvres and is usually limited to about 25 guests. Our next tasting will be held in November!
If you’ve never experienced the Apple Butter Festival, now is the time. This weekend, Oct 8th & 9th, our small town bursts with activities of days-gone-by. Thousands of people come every year to eat, play and shop. For 42 years this event has showcased the best of our community and this year is no exception! Enter a beard contest, race a turtle, enjoy the bluegrass music and definitely make dinner reservations soon! Our new Autumn Dinner menu is a treat worth the drive to Berkeley Springs!Although Lot 12 will not be located in the festival, pepperoni bombs, soups and sweets will be available during the day. And of course, our bar opens a bit earlier at 4pm for those that seek a respite from the crowds!
We will OPEN for Thanksgiving Dinner this year!! Call 304.258.6264 for details!
The Berkeley Springs Studio Tour isn’t complete without a stop at the Heath Studio/Gallery on North Washington Street downtown. Self-guided tour maps are available throughout the community. October 22nd & 23rd our town is all about the art!!
The little known Appalachian fruit-the Paw Paw-had a rather difficult growing season (as did many tree fruits this season!) We were lucky enough to have a delightful delivery and will be featuring these delicious, tropical fruits in the coming weeks!
